Best New Tools & Apps for Startup Founders, Hackers & Hustlers (5/9/15)

A few weeks ago we started a new List & Hunt Series that finds the best new tools for startups and founders from the past week. The main driving force behind this new series was that we were finding a bunch of great tools but they did not fit into the demographic that we were catering to with the daily List & Hunts. With our audience made up of a lot of founders and people in the startup community it was an easy decision to start this new series. We know that building a startup takes up a ton of time and you do not have time to look through all the new tools. That is where we come in, making your life just a little less hectic! Curating the list today and for a while is Josh Muccio who is the founder of the Daily Hunt podcast. If you haven’t had a chance to check that out yet you are missing great founder stories! Each episode he interviews a founder of a startup that was just listed on Product Hunt, picking their brain and trying to see how they built their startup. Also make sure to hit him up on Twitter at @Daily_Hunt & @JoshMuccio.

You know the sinking feeling in your stomach the moment you get these notifications, “Jane Smith Cancelled her Subscription”. What’s even worse than that feeling, is the notion that you don’t know why the cancellation occurred. Lesschurn is a tool that allows you to collect feedback from the user BEFORE cancellation. This allows you to respond to users objections and reduce churn. Setup is easy and it has the potential to impact your bottom line from day one. Learn More Here!

Screen Shot 2015-05-08 at 4.06.31 PMTailor is a powerful new A/B testing platform that allows you to test multiple variations of the same landing page at the same time. Then the algorithm automatically chooses the highest converting versions of each variation. Not only does it do all this automatically, but you’ll get metrics that show you exactly what your conversion rate is WITH Tailor and what your conversion rate would have been otherwise. What!?This tool is in beta, but it’s so powerful that I recommend that you give it a try anyway. Learn More Here!

Screen Shot 2015-05-08 at 2.55.39 PMSo whether your team is on location or remote, you are well aware of the myriad of project and task management tools available to you. Talllly is a team task management web app with gamification. You’ll be able to see how many tasks you’ve completed for the day, and how many your teammates have conquered during that same period. As the team owner or manager you’ll be able to see how efficient your team is working at any given point in time, as well as what tasks they are working on and what areas your team members may need assistance. The overall experience is fun, almost as fun as “working” in Slack! The team can neither confirm nor deny the fact that they may or may not be working on an integration between Talllly and Slack. Screen Shot 2015-05-08 at 2.59.39 PMMave is a tool that allows you to add a viral loop to the on-boarding process of your mobile app. Installation takes about 30 minutes and once configured will allow first time users to invite their friends via SMS with one popup dialogue that sends multiple invitations at once. Powerful stuff! Better to give Mave a test on your existing app to see if it improves your viral coefficient, rather than building out this functionality on your own! You can thank me later.
